Laviolette Park at Trois-Rivières

Hello there! I made a great discovery during my trip to Trois-Rivières on the weekend of April 24th-25th, 2021. In the evening, I went for a walk and decided to go see the Parc Laviolette located under the bridge of the same name.

It is a large and beautiful park in the very heart of the city, about 30 minutes from the Vieux Trois-Rivières on foot. There is plenty of space, more than enough to run, and I think that going around the park 2-3 times is probably a good distance (approximately 2 km / lap, I would say).

There are a lot of other things to do for those who enjoy sports, or simply to take advantage of the relative quietness that reigns on the edge of the St. Lawrence River. Even though you can sometimes hear the cars, you feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In short, it is the ideal place to relax and take a little break, a real oasis of peace in the middle of this urban jungle!

I had booked a night at the Travelodge Windham on Eugene Kruger Street. It is a motel, all the more classic, and well located in downtown Trois-Rivières. The rooms are clean and spacious, but it was impossible to open the window because a piece of wood screwed to the frame prevented any movement. It was the first time I had seen this and since there was no air conditioning, I imagine it must be particularly hot in the summer.

Also, the facility is located right across from the Kruger factory, so it’s not a very pleasant view. However, it is the cheapest place at the moment in Trois-Rivières and at $65 a night (taxes included), I still consider it to be good value for money.

For my part, I was satisfied with my day and I managed to achieve my goal, which was to be able to have a workout. Visit my YouTube channel (Alex the Nomad Trainer) to see what the park looks like (with a view of the river as a bonus). Goodbye, take care and stay in shape!
